A COD (Cash on Delivery) confirmation notification is a message sent to customers to verify their intent to complete an order paid upon delivery. This notification serves two main purposes: to confirm the customer's commitment to the order and to offer an opportunity to convert the payment method from COD to prepaid.

Types of button flows in COD Confirmation:
- Confirm with COD: This flow allows the customer to re-confirm their shipping address and sends a thank-you message upon confirmation. It will add a tag to the Shopify order if the customer confirms their COD order, confirms the address, or changes the address.
- Pay and Get Discount: If integrated with a payment gateway, this flow sends a payment link to customers, allowing them to convert their COD order to prepaid and receive a discount.
- Send Message: When selected, this option enables sending a pre-configured message to the customer once they click on the button associated with this flow.
- Agent Chat COD Confirmation: Selecting this flow triggers an agent chat session when the customer clicks on the button. The agent then confirms the COD order through the chat interaction.
- Confirm with COD Without Address: This flow skips the re-confirmation of the shipping address and directly sends a thank-you message when the customer clicks on the button.
- COD Confirmation Cancel Order: Choosing this flow initiates the cancellation of the order once the customer clicks on the button associated with it.
Points to Note:
- Payment integration with your WhatsApp bot is mandatory if you want your customers to convert their COD order to prepaid on WhatsApp.
- If COD confirmation notification is configured at 00:00 hours, then COD confirmation notification will be sent instead of order confirmation for cod.
- Both in ping 1 and ping 2, the “send message after” time should be less than flow expiry time.
- If No discount is offered on COD to prepaid conversion, then discount value should be configured as “0”.
- Once a customer converts their COD order to prepaid, the order status is ONLY updated on Shopify/WooCommerce. It will not get updated on your logistics partner’s end.
- We have an alternative flow for COD confirmation where, if a customer converts their COD order to prepaid, the previous order is cancelled and a new paid order is created. To enable this flow, please reach out to your POC at BusinessOnBot.
