How to Connect Your Dataset to a Meta Ad Account
To ensure your ads optimize using real conversion data from WhatsApp, you need to connect your dataset to your Meta Ad Account. This is a one-time setup.
Why this is important
Your dataset stores conversion events (like purchases, add to cart, etc.) coming from WhatsApp.
If it is not connected to your Ad Account:
- Your events will still be sent to Meta
- But Meta will not use them to optimize your ads
What you need before starting
- Access to Meta Business Manager
- Dataset ID (available in your dashboard)
- Ad Account ID (linked to your ads)
Step-by-step guide
- Go to Meta Business Settings
- In the left panel, navigate to:
- Select your dataset
- Click on “Add Assets”
- Choose Ad Accounts
- Select the Ad Account you want to connect
- Click Add

How to verify
Once connected:
- Return to your dashboard
- Click “I’ve connected it” (or refresh)
You should see:

- Ensure you have the correct Business Manager selected
- Check if you have admin access
Ad Account not showing?
- Confirm the Ad Account is under the same Business Manager
- Or that it has been shared with your business

You can connect one dataset to multiple Ad Accounts.
This allows all your campaigns to use the same conversion signals.
