From 1 October 2026, Meta charges for service messages (replies your business sends inside the 24-hour customer service window) and for utility templates sent inside an open window. Both were free until now.
What changes for you
- Service messages are billed at ₹0.18 per message, the same as your utility rate. BusinessOnBot adds no fee of its own.
- Replies sent by BusinessOnBot AI are covered by your AI plan, not billed at ₹0.18 each.
- WhatsApp Calling: calls from customers to you are free; calls you make cost ₹1 per minute, billed pro-rata.
- Messages your customers send, and replies within 72 hours of a Click-to-WhatsApp ad, stay free.
