Shop Pass Integration with BusinessOnBot
📘 How to Use ShopPass Events in Smart Automations
ShopPass by Shopflo sends behavioural data from your website (like product views, add to cart actions, and checkout clicks). With our Smart Automations, you can now react to these events and trigger targeted WhatsApp messages.
This guide walks you through the setup and usage of ShopPass Events in your automation workflows.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Go to Smart Automation
- Login to your BusinessOnBot dashboard
- Select “Smart Automationˮ
- Click on “Create New Automationˮ on the top-right
Step 2: Name the Automation & Select Trigger
- Add a Name to your automation (e.g., Cart Abandonment Recovery )
2. Add a Description
- Under Trigger Type, select: ShopPass Events
Don’t see the ShopPass option? Reach out to your account manager or email us at support@businessonbot.com to get ShopPass Events enabled for your account.
Step 3: Choose the ShopPass Event
From the dropdown, pick the specific ShopPass Event to trigger the automation:
Event | Triggered When... |
collection_page_viewed | A user views a collection page |
product_page_viewed | A user views a product page |
added_to_cart_ui | A user adds a product to their cart |
checkout_clicked | A user clicks the checkout button |
Step 4: Configure Automation Conditions (Optional but Powerful)
Once you've selected the ShopPass event, you can customise when and how the automation should trigger by configuring conditions. Hereʼs what you can set up:
Delay Configuration
Define when the automation should run after the event occurs
For example: “Trigger 30 minutes after user adds a product to cartˮ
Audience Targeting
Choose whether to target:
All customers or Specific customers based on event data or custom filters
Use ShopPass Event Data in Filters
Youʼll be able to access all the fields coming from ShopPass events for precise targeting, including:
Product Name / ID / URL
Cart Value
Collection URL
Email / Phone availability, etc
Step 5: Automation Actions
Once your triggers and conditions are set, define what action should be taken when the event is fired. You can choose either to send a WhatsApp Template Message or a Flow Configured on BusinessOnBot
Choose from your existing pre-approved WhatsApp templates / Flow
Any data from the ShopPass event can be mapped to template variables (e.g., product name, cart value, userʼs phone, etc.)
Example:
"Hi {{1}}, you left {{2}} in your cart. Complete your purchase now!"
Hit “Deploy Automationˮ to make it Live.
Step 6: Get Webhook URL for the Automation
Once you create the automation, you can get the Webhook URL for it by clicking on the Link Icon on the Automation Card
Step 7: Paste the Webhook URL on your Shop Pass Dashboard
Once the webhook has been copied from the BusinessOnBot dashboard, go to your Shop Pass Dashboard > Settings > Abandoned Carts > Insert Webhook here.
