Overview
We are excited to announce the rollout of our enhanced mapping system, designed to streamline the management of abandoned cart URLs for our E-Commerce D2C brands using Shopify and other checkout partners. This update addresses the inefficiencies previously experienced and introduces a more effective way to associate brands with their respective checkout partners.
Problem Statement
Many brands integrating with Shopify faced challenges in accessing and managing abandoned checkout URLs. While Shopify provided a straightforward URL for native checkouts, third-party checkout partners delivered this information inconsistently - often buried in the notes section. This resulted in manual mapping updates, leading to inefficiencies and errors whenever checkout partner key attributes were being changed.
Our previous system lacked flexibility and required significant developer effort for updates, making it difficult for brands to adapt quickly.
Key Enhancements
- Checkout Partner Key Mappings:
- We have created a repository for all checkout partner key mappings associated with client IDs. This simplifies management and ensures that updates can be made efficiently.
- Brand-Partner Associations:
- Brands can now associate themselves with the relevant checkout partners and also traverse from one to the other very easily. This feature allows them to inherit the necessary key mappings without manual intervention.
- Streamlined URL Retrieval:
- The system now facilitates easy and consistent extraction of recovery URLs based on the brand’s associated checkout partner. This eliminates confusion and enhances automation capabilities.
- Improved Backend Logic:
- A new layer has been introduced in the codebase to identify and retrieve URLs based on the checkout partner name. This allows for quick updates with minimal developer input, changing a single line of code when a key is modified by a checkout partner.
- User-Friendly Dashboard Update:
- A new section for Abandoned Cart configuration has been added to our internal dashboard, making it easier for the CS team to select and manage checkout partners.
Benefits
- Efficiency: This new system simplifies the management of checkout partner mappings, enabling faster updates and retrieval of URLs.
- Scalability: Easily add new checkout partners without extensive development resources, allowing brands to adapt quickly to changes.
- Consistency: Ensures uniform extraction processes for all brands linked to a checkout partner, reducing potential errors and improving reliability.
